INTRODUCTION
This project aims to design and print a magazine, using basic design principles and adhering to a brand vision.
CONCEPT
The first step of designing this magazine was deciding what direction to take it in. I had previously designed a magazine about sustainable/ environmental architecture, so I wanted to further develop that concept. I drew inspiration from home magazines, and editorials for environmental architecture. I created a few rough sketches to provide direction before beginning production.
PROCESS
The design I had in mind heavily featured images, so the first step was to find free images that reflected my inspiration. I used a stock image website to download images that featured housing that incorporated the environment. I used Adobe InDesign to create a layout for the magazine and placed the images accordingly. I used typography and colors to support the elegant, clean feel of the magazine. I learned about magazine layout, 2-page printing, and brand vision.
